jonas lyndby jensen: nordic dining set

danish designer jonas lyndby jensen created this dining table and chair set to reinterpret
nordic materials in new ways. the idea for the series came after eating a meal at danish
restaurant that uses all nordic ingredients prepared in different, non nordic ways. jensen
wanted to see if this approach could work in furniture.
the resulting series exclusively uses nordic materials and builds on, but also renews, nordic furniture tradition.
the dining set is based on classic furniture archetypes made using new technologies. for example,
the back of the chair is a thin double curved shell made from fiber glass that is upholstered
with salmon skin. the chair base and table are both made from smoked oak wood.
