Keith Haring Chairs

Keith Haring’s art is being translated to all sorts of objects. We’ve shown Vilac’s Haring inspired domino set, and these chairs serve as follow-up. Again produced by Vilac, the playful seating furniture is sized for children and built with the same exacting attention to detail as the company puts into all their wooden toys. Available now from UnicaHome. (via Retro to Go).

Band of Outsiders Fall/Winter 2009 Collection

Band of Outsiders have been pivotal in the movement of minimalism and the return of the “Ivy” look in recent seasons. The labels fall/winter 2009 collection is another inspiration with the played down look executed in a really compelling fashion.

Beams x Dickies Zip Shorts

Once again Beams gets together with Dickies to collaborate on some shorts. The 874 shorts come in grey and in beige and feature neon zippers on the back. The zippers give the shorts a more relaxed or a more fitted look. We are not really convinced of the concept, but the color accents definitely give the shorts a new look.

Supercool LED lamp is simply cool

Designed for Macrolux, the LED lamp is based on the telescopic elements, which helps the users to adjust the height and slide the reflector panel up and down alongside the tube, other than flipping the lighting reflector to a sharp 360 degree angle, letting the users play with their creativity in producing different lighting effects.
Working with high-power LED light, this lighting object touts a dynamic, adjustable structure that makes it ideal for all spaces. When positioned in close proximity to the wall, it uses the wall as a reflector to illuminate the place.

Kustaa Saksi - Nike Installation

1948 is Nike’s creative playground-retail store in the old brick railway arches of Shoreditch, London. In addition to displaying and selling shoes, 1948 offers an entire art floor for events, installations and assorted fun.

The installation created by Finland-born illustrator/artist/designer Kustaa Saksi is all about the historical fun journey of the Nike running shoe. Typical for the currently Amsterdam-based Saksi, the sprawling scene has a pop-art, retro feel that fits Nike’s history as a brand. Saksi’s Volkswagen van and psychedelic colors illustrate the pre-swoosh era in an earnest and deliberately clunky way.

Aissa Logerot - Extension Table

This project questions contemporary furniture design, from the concept of multipurpose use and uncertain quality (due to rationalized industrial production), to the ambition or desire for durability.
Products are envisaged in a non-fixed state, to be extended or lengthened, according to uses which vary and evolve over time. Starting with assembly and a concern for eco-design, I rethought the idea of furniture in kit form, taking into account packaging, transportation, storage, mounting and dismantling by the user.
