Emmanuelle Moureaux Architecture + Design: Sugamo Shinkin Bank Niiza Branch

emmanuelle moureaux architecture + design has completed the new design for the
sugamo shinkin bank niiza branch. the concept was to create a new look to refresh the
current image of the financial institution.

for the 43rd branch, the studio not only redesigned
the interior of the bank, but its brand image including the facade, logo graphics, signage
and brochures.

the design revolves around squares - both the shape and the idea of the building
being conceived as a public meeting place. the logo on the facade features squares of as many as
24 colors, which continue on into the interior of the space, acting as visual dividers between
the lobby, meeting space, ATM area etc.

Verb

Marlon Darbeau's "Verb," made from teak and plywood, is an interesting piece of multi-functional furniture:
As an exploration of movement through space and time, 'Verb' allows its user to manipulate the shape of the object like a set or a prop - to choreograph space and in so doing change the way light inhabits and illuminates space.

As the 'verb' transitions in form it transforms in functionality - from stable, balanced objects like a table, a lamp, chair, sculpture Or bookcase, to dynamic locomotive forms that perambulate, rock or spin.

Darbeau is a graphic designer based in Trinidad and Tobago. See more of his stuff here.

Gucci Pop-Up Shop in Soho, NYC

Gucci pops-up its Gucci-Icon Temporary Shop on Crosby St. in New York’s Soho tomorrow morning at 10 am with no intention of sticking around for long. “The boutique, its white-washed walls covered in the signature Gucci evergreen and red stripes, will pack up as soon as its wares — which include the Gucci Ronson sneaker, a collaboration with celebrity DJ Mark Ronson — are sold out.” says WWD…”the company is hoping to close the space even before its two-week run is over.”
