Tim Hamilton, this year’s winner of the CFDA/Swarovski Award for Menswear, whose first women’s collection will be available this fall from If Boutique in New York and H. Lorenzo in Los Angeles.
Every piece was designed from scratch, with women very much in mind. “I have female customers who buy my men’s clothes and they’ve been asking me when I would do a collection specifically for them,” he says. “But I didn’t just mirror what I already do. This collection is about a bold, feminine message. Even the tailoring, which has exaggerated shoulders, is superfeminine.”
