Futuristic Bookcase Design

This bookcase composition reminds a beautiful spider web and looks anything but usual and simple. It consists of many bookshelves which of course be used to hold small pieces of decor. Even though it was presented as a part of exhibition it still could be recreated as a part of some modern and even futuristic interior design. On the photos the color theme is black and white which is perfect for such kind of interiors but you can create something that will fit your color theme.

The concept behind Thomas Heatherwick's UK pavilion at Shanghai Expo 2010, is an enclosure that throws outwards from all sides, a mass of long radiating cilia.

The centerpiece of the pavilion is the seed cathedral, a six storey high cube-like structure, pierced by approximately 60 000 x 7.5m long slim transparent acrylic rods which sway gently in response to any wind movement. During the day each of these rods act like fibre optic filaments, drawing on daylight in order to illuminate the interior. At night, light sources at the interior end of each rod allow the whole structure to glow from the outside.

The pavilion is situated on a landscape which resembles paper which once wrapped the building, but now lies unfolded on the site. The surrounding space provides an open venue for public events and along with shelter for visitors.

Maison Moschino

The hotel is located in the old neoclassical railway station on Viale Monte Grappa, 12, that opened in 1840 for the Milan-Monza route. The hotel’s creative direction is led by Rossella Jardini and Moschino’s creative team.
The exterior facades were restructured to be faithful to the original structure, while the interior was completely interpreted in the Moschino style. Divided into four floors, the 65 rooms and junior suites are all different. On the ground floor, the hall and the bar welcome guests into the hotel.


The common thread connecting the rooms is a fairy tale theme. Whimsical and magical elements reminiscent of Enchanted Forests and children's favorites like Alice In Wonderland, Little Red Riding Hood and Candyland are the themes of some of the rooms.

The hotel interior, lobby and restaurant reflect Moschino’s distinctive style where the ordinary world is painted with a brush of surrealism.

The hotel also has a restaurant and a spa. The restaurant Clandestino Milano extends from the hall to the terrace, the Culti spa and the gym are located on the lower levels.

The restaurant menu proposes a selection of innovative dishes starting from breakfast: the delicious “Mos kit”, for instance, represents a culinary itinerary. It is offered in a choice of 4, 6 or 8 combination and served in a precious box that humorously reminds of an elegant shoe box. “Mos kit” changes every day according to the seasons and to our chef’s different inspirations.

Irony is the theme that inspires Maison Moschino’s lunch menu and its aperitif, served as a toothbrush with an edible mint and coconut toothpaste and a saké and mint flavored “mouthwash”.

Maison Moschino is centrally located and within easy reach of the transport system. You can get to the nearest underground station, Porta Garibaldi (green line), in just five minutes by foot.

Studio Italo Rota have designed luxury, modern and colorful interior of Boscolo Exedra Hotel in Milan, Italy. The goal ideas for this design is make the hotel become places that identify the city. The hotel is a place where cultures come together and meet so this is must be open to everyone and not only the resident guests.

Boscolo Exedra Hotel is the seventh five star hotel located in a building which dates back to the 1920’s in premises which were formerly occupied by a bank and after one year of hard work and 150 million Euro on renovations the brand new Boscolo Exedra Hotel // Milano runs over a surface area of 15,000 square meters. All of the Boscolo Hotels respect for architecture as each one has been established following renovation work on historical buildings, a distinctive trait, that has made it a true mission for the company to restore the heritage of architecture and buildings.

The striking scenography of the hall, with its harlequin sculptures, creates the ideal environment for a warm and unforgettable welcome. The hall, the reception and the elegant restaurant are designed as a single large space, ensuring visual continuity of their various functions. The property also provides guests with a glamorous bar/ lounge and an original Champagnerie, the perfect location in which to enjoy delicious cocktails and excellent light meals. The hotel was built in 2009 and is spread over 9 floors. It has a total of 154 guest rooms and luxury suites.
The guest rooms and luxury suites are decorated in contemporary style and embellished by a number of dynamic design features. The designer has appointed them using soft colours, choice materials and design pieces.

Spacious and welcoming, the suites are specially designed to cater for guests’ complete physical and spiritual wellbeing. Each suite is different, with its own unique layout. Each one comes with an en-suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, a hairdryer, a double or king-size bed, a direct dial telephone, a satellite/ cable television and Internet access. A safe, a minibar, individually adjustable heating/ air conditioning and a terrace also come as standard features.
