Reinventing Art Nouveau

This unusual and fascinating set of furniture comes from Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance, a designer that is known for reinterpreting and giving new meanings to History and its influences. These items are a part of a furniture collection called “Manta” and they were designed for Italian company Ceccotti.
The sideboard, the armchair and the desk represent the designer’s unique approach of reinventing Art Nouveau. Only twenty similar pieces were made, so this is a limited edition. The overall feeling is that of sinuosity and impenetrability and this was made possible by using carbon fiber to build the pieces.
Here are some of Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance’s words from a recent interview concerning his creations : “I go to a place and let it talk to me, to understand the ambiance and what I want to express, I don’t get caught up in history because it often bogs you down.”-
